Sacraments and Ceremonies

The Sacrament of Baptism

In our Christian denomination, the United Church of Christ, people are baptized either as children or adults. Baptism with water and the Holy Spirit is the mark of their acceptance into the care of Christ’s church, the sign and seal of their participation in God’s forgiveness, and the beginning of their new growth into full Christian faith and life.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion

Together, around God’s welcome table, we recall God’s loving acts especially in Jesus, we experience our oneness in Christ, hope for a time when all will be fed, and anticipate the fullness of God’s love and justice throughout creation.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the program by which young people in 8th or 9th grade prepare to “confirm” the baptismal vows that their parents took for them when they were much younger. It is their chance to say “yes” to their baptism and for the church to say “yes” to their growing faith.

Memorials

The loss of a loved one is something no one should go through alone. We are here to provide support and guidance during this challenging time.

Weddings

Since 1925, our warm and caring staff have been performing weddings here, helping thousands of couples start their life journey together by celebrating in our lovely sanctuary. We welcome all couples, regardless of preferred faith, sexual orientation, race, or language to be married in our church.
