Liberty in a Soup Screening and Soup

Liberty in a Soup Screening and Soup
Sunday, May 26
12:15 p.m. in Havighorst Lounge

Discover how a soup has become a symbol of freedom for the Haitian people. Gables UCC will screen the acclaimed documentary Liberty in a Soup directed by independent filmmaker Dudley Alexis on Sunday, May 26 at 12:15 p.m. in Havighorst Lounge.

During the movie, Haiti: Mission Possible will host a fundraising lunch to support a Haitian school founded by the late Roger Dunwell, a member of this congregation and where children often receive their only meal of the day.

Traditional soup joumou will be served. Tickets for the soup and film, which is one hour, are $20 a person or $30 for a family. (We encourage families to join us and introduce their children to the culture of Haiti.)
