Gables UCC Youth
Summer Trip 2023
San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala
In June of 2023, the youth of Coral Gables Congregational, United Church of Christ will journey to San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala for a week of education, service, and cultural immersion. We will be hosted by the San Lucas Mission, which serves the villages surrounding Lake Atitlan and is operated by over 100 Guatemalans.
While in Guatemala, our youth will be learning and serving at the Mission’s hospital, school, women’s center, coffee program, and construction projects. It is our prayer and intention to build relationships with the people of Guatemala based in solidarity and compassion.
The estimated cost per traveler for our Guatemala trip is $1,100. This will go toward airfare, a week’s stay at the Mission, and a donation to the Mission.
Sponsorship Levels:
Round Trip Sponsorship – $1,100 – Gets a traveler all the way to Guatemala and back!
San Lucas Sponsorship – $550 – Gets a traveler to San Lucas and to the Mission
Solidarity Sponsorship – $300 – Pays for the week’s worth of food, education, and lodging
Donor Sponsorship – $100 – Pays for the donation to the Mission for their amazing work
Each level of sponsorship will receive a postcard from the trip, and the top two levels will receive a gift from San Lucas upon our return.
We are so grateful for your investment into the lives of our young people. This trip will be a transformative one and we look forward to bringing back education and love from the people of Guatemala to Miami!
