
“Trans Medicine” Book Study

Trans Medicine by stef shuster takes on the emergence and practice of treating gender. The book looks at the history of trans medicine from the 1950s through the 1980s, and looks at how the historical context shapes contemporary dilemmas in trans medicine. Many medical providers feel uncertainty about working with trans people.
This book study and discussion group is for anyone who needs more information about trans medicine, including transgender people, parents and family members of trans people, medical professionals who want to expand the ways they can help trans people, friends and allies of trans people, and anyone who wants to expand their knowledge and understanding of an important issue faced by trans people.
Book discussion will be over Zoom on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. stef shuster will be joining in one evening to discuss the book and their research.
