The Prophet: A 100th anniversary celebration of this book by Kahlil Gibran

As we celebrate 100 years at Gables UCC, there is another 100th anniversary. This year also marks the 100th Anniversary of Kahlil Gibran’s best-selling book The Prophet. Although written in 1923, it is said to be “a much-needed guide in the midst of today’s global challenges, related to peace, harmony, the environment, and the building of bridges between diverse cultures and creeds. Join Pastor Laurie as she reflects on the all-embracing spirituality of Gibran, the early twentieth century Lebanese American poet, artist, and mystic, and this book which has a way of speaking to people at different stages in their lives.

You are encouraged to read or re-read it again to help make our discussion rich and informative. Several copies of The Prophet are available in the church library, or you can pick one up easily at any bookstore or online.
