Midday Lenten Devotions: Henri Matisse & the Colors of Lent
March 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
Midday Lenten Devotions
Henri Matisse & the Colors of Lent
Tuesdays, February 20-March 19, 2024
Facilitator- Pastor Megan
The 40-day Season of Lent is a journey through color: from ashen gray to glorious purple, charcoal shadow to dazzling silver, deep crimson to the rainbow of petals in a springtime garden. The word “lent” refers to the “lengthening” of sunlight each day, shining down and drawing out the colors from the earth. What better guide, then, to this colorful pageant than the artist, Henri Matisse, one of the most innovative, influential, and beloved artists in modern history, celebrated above all as a master colorist! Join Pastor Megan as we explore Matisse’s art and reflect upon the Lenten stories of our faith.
