The Enneagram is a dynamic framework for understanding personality, with roots in both contemplative spiritual traditions and contemporary psychology. It describes nine fundamentally different ways of responding to and being in the world. It helps us understand our individual motivations, triggers, coping strategies, and what can cause relationships to flounder or help them flourish. And by mapping specific paths of personal development and spiritual enrichment for each of the nine Enneagram personality types, it provides a powerful tool for integrating our personal and spiritual lives.
In this two-hour introduction, Fred Boykin LCSW and Jack Killen MD will introduce the Enneagram’s nine personality patterns and how understanding our own core pattern can be used in everyday life to promote personal and spiritual growth and create richer and more fulfilling personal and professional relationships.
Fred and Jack are both Enneagram teachers certified by The Narrative Enneagram school. Fred is a psychotherapist who has been using the Enneagram for over 20 years in his work with his clients. Jack, now retired from a 33-year career in clinical research at the National Institutes of Health, is currently working with several colleagues on a book exploring the Enneagram from a scientific perspective. They have been using the Enneagram in their personal lives since 1996, and sharing the Enneagram in seminars, workshops, and workplaces since 2005.
