What is your only comfort in life and in death?

An interesting question that begins our journey in a 450-year-old Catechism.

When we hear the word Catechism, what comes to mind?

  • dusty old doctrinal questions and answers?
  • something to memorize in order to get confirmed?
  • a cut-and-dried out summary of what Christians ought to believe?
  • written so long ago, so it probably doesn’t apply to our life today?

During the month of October, we will find that this 450-year-old confession is more than a teaching tool. It is a deeply personal statement of faith and is surprisingly contemporary in conversation with us today. Together, with M. Craig Barnes’ book Body & Soul: Reclaiming the Heidelberg Catechism, we will find answers to our questions and question some answers in our new and long held beliefs of our Christian faith.

You can order the book on Amazon or check with your independent book dealer to order one!
