Adult Spiritual Formation with Rev. Lillian Daniel

April 18 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am EDT

Special Guest: The Rev. Lillian Daniel
Author of Tired of Apologizing for a Church I Don’t Belong To
In her book, Tired of Apologizing for a Church I Don’t Belong To, the Rev. Lillian Daniels shows why it matters how we talk about Christian community while urging open-minded Christians to learn better ways to talk about their faith and their faith journeys in a reasonable, rigorous, and real way.

Join us for a special edition of our Sunday Morning Adult Education as Lillian joins us via Zoom for a conversation around her book which has been described as a feast of words – funny, ribald, tiptoeing to the edge of sarcasm, and yet full of love and unflinching hope.

Rev. Daniel, the Senior Minister at the First Congregational UCC in Dubuque, Iowa, has been featured in the New York Times and on PBS. She has taught preaching at Chicago Theological Seminary, the University of Chicago Divinity School, and at her alma mater, Yale Divinity School.

And the really great new is….we have a free book for you! Lillian has given us quite a few books and we look forward to sharing one with you so that you can fully participate in the conversation.

You can receive the book in a couple of ways:
You may pick one up at the church throughout the week…

Or we are glad to mail one to you. Just let Pastor Megan know at  and she will be sure to get a book to you.
Email Pastor Laurie at for the Zoom link.
