Juneteenth Sunday Worship – June 16, 2024

We gather to commemorate Juneteenth and to recommit ourselves to being an anti-racism church. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in thhttps://gablesucc.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Bulletin-6.16.24.pdfe US and is the oldest known celebration honoring the enslavement of people of African descent. While Juneteenth celebrates freedom, it also reminds us of the many ways in which the legacy of slavery still lives in our national life. We remember that many promises of freedom were not kept; that we have yet to live up to our ideals of “liberty and justice for all.”

Leading us in worship is Legato, a culturally diverse team of vocal powerhouses whose mission is to reach people of all cultures through diverse musical harmonies, linking us all together through love and sound.
